ETN hosts a delegation from Brazil to share perspectives on technology development in the energy sector.

On Wednesday, 4 February, Energy Transition Norway had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from Brazil as part of a knowledge and experience exchange on innovation and technology development in the energy sector.
The visit brought together researchers from the ENFUSE project, who are currently visiting Norway to learn more about how different actors can support the development of new energy technologies. The delegation included representatives from academia and R&D professionals from Equinor Brazil.
Professor Marcelo Castro, Director of CEPETRO–UNICAMP and Coordinator of the ENFUSE project, presented the project and its research ambitions. ENFUSE -Entrepreneurship for Future and Sustainable Energy - is a research and development partnership between the Inova Unicamp Innovation Agency and Petrobras, with the goal of creating deep-tech startups within the energy sector.
ETN’s Project Coordinator, Margie Maria Gonzalez, presented ETN’s role as an energy transition cluster and shared insights into how we work to support industrial transformation. She highlighted how ETN brings together companies across the energy value chain through events, workshops and project development, supports members in navigating public funding opportunities, and works closely with ETN’s Technical Committee - where major oil and gas operators are represented. This close dialogue enables ETN to both align cluster projects with industry needs and provide feedback on market demand and technology development. Access to major industry players and collaboration across sectors were emphasised as key drivers for accelerating the energy transition.
Building on this, Kjell Erik Drevdal, Project Manager for ETN’s cluster project Go Radical P&A (GRaPA), presented the project and shared practical experiences from working at the intersection of energy transition, innovation and regulation. The discussion highlighted both the complexity of transition processes and the importance of sharing knowledge and experience across actors to accelerate the qualification of P&A technologies.
The visit provided valuable mutual learning and exchange of perspectives across regions and disciplines. Thank you to Innovation Norway for organising this meeting and enabling an insightful knowledge exchange.
