On Friday, September 8, 2023, the second day of the H2 Conference Norway brought 50 conference participants to NORCE Technopark in Risavika, soon to be known as the Risavika Hydrogen Hub.

Due to infrastructural work only a limited number of visitors were possible for this event, and international guests were prioritized. The event was arranged by test center partners ETN, NORCE, Lyse and Seid who do have future site visits in the pipeline to accommodate our regional and Norwegian partners.

The pitch sessions featured local hydrogen-related firms, which brought together producers and end-users of hydrogen.

Representatives from Hydrogen MEM Tech, Agri-e, Norwegian Hydrogen, Gas2Feed, Westgass, and Norled all took the stage and explained how they already are or soon will be using the test center.

Following the presentations, attendees enjoyed lunch and were treated to guided tours of the facilities. The area has 14,000 square meters of available space, only of which 3,000 square meters have been utilized so far.

NORCE has ambitious plans for future development, and Hans Kleivdal, Assistant CEO and Business Developer for Climate and Environment at NORCE, indicates that good ideas are being considered on a first-come, first-served basis:

- We have plenty of plans in the pipeline. Many have ideas and thoughts they are discussing with us. For instance, an example of such an initiative is a dedicated building for hydrogen production testing, Kleivdal sais to Ocean24 in this article.

Looking for more partners: Egil Aanestad, CEO in Energy Transition Norway with and Hans Kleivdal, Assistant CEO and Business Developer for Climate and Environment at NORCE

Energy Transition Norway's role is that of being a facilitator for the project, and the cluster administration is actively seeking more partners on regional, national, and international fronts, inviting engagement not only in hydrogen but also in the evolving technologies tested and developed at Risavika.

Initiatives like the Risavika Hydrogen Hub are poised to elevate the adoption of hydrogen and drive market demand, essential for accelerating the hydrogen industry.

A crucial step towards a greener future.
