Launching CleanEnergy Network to Strengthen Norway–EU Collaboration
More Norwegian EU projects are the goal when strong innovation environments along the west coast join forces
With only a few weeks left - we have an impressive lineup on June 12th you don't want to miss.
With more than 30 expert speakers, CCUS Conference Norway gathers some of the leading voices nationally and internationally across industry, policy, research and technology. While the conference spans several sessions, here we highlight a selection of key topics and related contributors - and what they bring to the discussion on June 12th.
The opening session sets the stage by providing a broad perspective on how different nations and regions are approaching the development of CCUS value chains, highlighting best practices, regulatory developments, and long-term strategy.
Tim Heijn, Managing Director at Northern Lights JV, leads Norway’s most important CO₂ storage initiative. With over 20 years of experience from TotalEnergies, Maersk Oil, and Shell, Heijn brings industrial authority and insight into the operationalisation and future market dynamics for CO₂ storage, offering participants a grounded look at how capture and storage is unfolding in real time.
Eadbhard Pernot, Secretary General of the Zero Emission Platform (ZEP), adds crucial political and policy weight to the conference. Representing a key industry-backed advisory body to the European Commission, Pernot will provide valuable insight into how EU policy is shaping the future of CCS/CCUS and why long-term, systems-level thinking is needed to scale it.
This session tackles a fundamental question: how can we create a CCUS value chain that serves both major industrial hubs and smaller, dispersed emitters?
Wendy Lam, CEO of Capsol Technologies ASA, brings the Norwegian technology export perspective to the forefront. Capsol is a leading provider of energy-efficient and scalable CO₂ capture solutions. Lam is known for her ability to clearly communicate complex technology and highlight how innovations in digitalisation, automation and modularity are changing the game.
Real-world implementation is the ultimate test of CCUS viability. This session highlights companies taking the lead in deploying CCUS in hard-to-abate sectors.
Johanne Koll-Hansen Bø, Group Head of Commercial at Holcim, based in Switzerland, represents one of the world’s largest building materials companies - and one of the most carbon-intensive industries. Her participation brings focus to the commercialisation of CO₂ capture in cement production and building materials, sharing early lessons from Holcim’s pioneering initiatives.
Even as the technology matures, CCUS faces barriers: financing, policy frameworks, and risk-sharing models.
David Phillips, VP Europe & Middle East at Svante, contributes a global technology and finance lens. Formerly Head of Capital Markets at Aker Carbon Capture and an investment strategist with decades of experience, Phillips is now scaling deployment of Svante’s solid sorbent-based carbon capture systems. His unique blend of technological insight and capital markets expertise will shed light on what it takes to make CCUS investable on a scale.
The closing panel brings leading minds together to ask: what happens if we delay action - and what will it take to make CCUS a pillar of the climate transition?
Mona Mølnvik, Research Director and EVP Gas Technology at SINTEF Energy and Director of FME NCCS, is one of Norway’s most prominent research voices on CCS. As leader of the NCCS research centre, she combines scientific credibility with strong communication skills - making her the perfect voice to summarise what the science demands and how the sector must respond.
With a lineup of experienced leaders, sharp thinkers, and real-world innovators, CCUS Conference Norway is the place to be for anyone working at the intersection of industry, policy and climate technology.
Join us in Stavanger on June 12th to take part in the conversations that will shape the future of carbon capture and storage!
