What prevents SMEs from deploying technology and innovation for the green transition?
COMMIT Workshop with ETN and Rogaland fylkeskommune
The diversity of new members reflects both the complexity of the energy transition and the need for collaboration.

Energy Transition Norway (ETN) is pleased to welcome six new companies to the cluster in 2026: Hurricane Innovation, Kurtala Green Ammonia, Vallourec Norge, Interwell, Norsk Kjernekraft, and Enetech.
Together, these companies represent a broad range of technologies and capabilities relevant to Norway’s energy transition — from hydrogen and offshore renewables to well services and nuclear power.
Hurricane Innovation is developing a wave energy system designed for commercial-scale offshore deployment. The company’s patented technology builds on steel jacket structures — a well-established format in offshore engineering — and targets water depths of 40 to 110 metres. Hurricane Innovation is focused on bringing wave energy to market as a complement to offshore wind.
Kurtala Green Ammonia is developing green ammonia production in Norway, using renewable electricity to produce ammonia as a low-carbon energy carrier and industrial feedstock. The company contributes to the development of solutions for hard-to-abate sectors such as shipping and fertiliser production.
Vallourec Norge is part of the global Vallourec group, supplying premium seamless steel tubes for the energy industry. From its facility at Risavika, the company supports offshore operations on the Norwegian continental shelf and is expanding into low-carbon applications including CCS, geothermal energy and hydrogen infrastructure.
Interwell is a well intervention and plugging specialist serving the oil and gas industry. The company develops technology and services for well integrity, production optimisation and permanent plug and abandonment — work that is increasingly relevant as Norway manages its maturing offshore infrastructure.
Norsk Kjernekraft is working to develop, own and operate small modular reactor (SMR) power plants in Norway, in collaboration with industry and municipalities. The company is progressing several site assessments and regulatory processes, with the aim of delivering stable, low-emission electricity and process heat.
Enetech specialises in off-grid energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers. The company combines hydrogen fuel cells, battery storage and solar power to deliver reliable energy supply where grid connection is not available or practical, across sectors such as construction, aquaculture and critical infrastructure.
Energy Transition Norway brings together over 150 member companies and collaboration partners. The diversity of new members reflects both the complexity of the energy transition and the need for collaboration across technologies, sectors and value chains.
Through the cluster, members gain access to a network of industry actors, project opportunities and collaboration platforms across the energy system. ETN works to connect companies with partners, support the development of new projects, and facilitate dialogue with operators, research environments and funding actors.
Membership is open to companies and organisations working within energy, technology and related fields who want to engage in collaborative project development and contribute to the energy transition.
