Common Goals within Framework of Green Transition Dialogue
China and Norway have long enjoyed a strong and friendly relationship that continues to grow in the field of energy transition especially.
The establishment of the Green Transition Dialogue between our countries in September 2024 reflects a shared commitment to innovation and climate cooperation:
"The dialogue will seek to facilitate contacts and cooperation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, preserve and restore biodiversity and create new green industries and jobs. The dialogue will encompass existing areas of cooperation as well as new initiatives that are conducive to expediting the green transition.
The cooperation and dialogue under the framework will be conducted by relevant authorities, businesses, and organisations in line with mutual interests and available resources and under their respective responsibilities". - Regjeringen.no
We were therefore honored to welcome H.E. Ms. Hou Yue, Chinese Ambassador to Norway, for a joint meeting where we explored opportunities for deeper collaboration this week.
Mr. Egil Aanestad, Managing Director of Energy Transition Norway, presented some of the most promising industry projects facilitated by the cluster, and Mr. Leif Johan Sevland, President of the ONS Foundation which regularly hosts a large delegation of Chinese representatives at the ONS Conference, presented the program of ONS 2026.
With Stavanger’s strong position in the energy transition, the meeting was a meaningful step toward further strengthening ties and encourage innovation and cooperation across borders.
