On May 10th, Energy Transition Norway met with a Chinese delegation of 35 professionals at FOMO.
On May 10th, Innovation Norway gathered Energy Transition Norway, Rogaland County and several Norwegian companies to meet with a Chinese delegation of 35 professionals at FOMO in Forus, Stavanger. The purpose of the meeting was to explore business opportunities within several industries, notably renewable energy and the emerging low-carbon industry, marking a significant step towards collaboration between Stavanger/Rogaland and China/Shandong.
The business-to-business meeting aimed to facilitate collaboration and investment between the two regions. The Shandong delegation consisted of companies spanning various industries, and was presented with technological developments within the cluster, exemplified by projects like Arda Energy and Seid.
Noteworthy among the Chinese companies was Shandong High Speed Group Co., Ltd., a Fortune Global 500 company primarily engaged in transportation infrastructure and emerging industries such as new energy and smart infrastructure. Shandong Marine Group and Shandong Healthcare Group also expressed interest in renewable energy, offshore engineering, healthcare, and medical equipment, signaling their readiness to collaborate with Norwegian partners.
Similarly, Weichai Holding Group Co., Ltd., representing Shandong Heavy Industries, expressed interest in smart manufacturing and low-carbon solutions, aiming to establish collaborations with Norwegian counterparts.
The Shandong Port Group, recognized as the largest port cluster in the Asia-Pacific region, highlighted its capabilities in port capacity building and cargo logistics. With its European office in Rotterdam, the group aimed to forge strategic alliances in these areas, leveraging its extensive infrastructure and experience.
The latter part of the event featured business-to-business discussions, allowing participants to explore potential collaborations tailored to their interests. Several opportunities for cooperation emerged across various sectors, indicating a positive outlook for future partnerships between Stavanger and Chinese companies.
